The PlayStation 2 (PS2) is Sony's second game console PS2 backwards compatibility, though falling short of perfect, is adequate enough to make a standalone PS1 obsolete via an ODE capable of booting ISOs from both platforms. I'm really hoping that somebody's finally decided to make an ODE for the PS2, so it will be possible to load PS1 images without emulation via Popstarter or load PS2 images without a modem.
